JEWELLERY

A s a great admirer of the mineral world, French intellectual and literary critic Roger Caillois penned an essay singing the praises of stones: “Men envy their longevity, their severity, their intransigence and their radiance, their smoothness and impenetrability, and their capacity of being full even as they are shattered. They are fire and water combined in the same immortal transparency, in which emerges sometimes an iris or a mist. To men – in whose hands they stand – they bring a sense of purity, a coldness and distance known to celestial bodies, and all kinds of serenities”. 1 Touched by these works of nature, Lalique has drawn its latest inspiration from the raw beauty of minerals. With artistic fractures bearing the marks of the Earth’s geological history, stones are in essence both strong and delicate, a shining symbol of resilience perfectly in line with the natural spirit of the founder of the House, René Lalique.

WITH THEIR SCULPTED AND CHISELLED TIPS AND EDGES, THE CRYSTALS COULD ALMOST HAVE GROWN NATURALLY IN ONE OF THE WONDROUS MINERAL CAVES BURIED IN REMOTE PARTS OF THE GLOBE.

Terrestrial jewellery In spring 2025, the Earth, in all its depth, with all its vulnerability, will be transformed into jewellery as part of the Terramineral collection. The full set includes a ring, bracelet, brooch, pair of earrings, and two necklaces, for a dazzling end look. Lalique’s Design Studio allowed the minerals to speak for themselves. Thanks to the House’s exceptional expertise of over a century, finely textured crystals adorn the six pieces in the collection. With their sculpted and chiselled tips and edges, the crystals could almost have grown naturally in one of the wondrous mineral caves buried in remote parts of the globe. Both radiant and transparent, the wealth of the Earth’s depths comes to light. The stones in each piece, reinterpreted in Lalique crystal, are available in two colours: timeless clear crystal, elevated with a bright plating of 18-carat yellow gold, and Persepolis blue crystal, with an icy finish mounted on a silver setting. Through the bezel setting, the metal and crystal come together as one, in total elegance. Each piece in the Terramineral collection shines like a work of art, a little slice of nature to be worn every day.
