Shaping Atmosphere, Revealing Emotion Interview with Adeline Lunati, Director of the Lalique Interior Design Studio
What inspired the project? Mutual trust between the property owner and architect Syl vestre Murigneux, supported by the Maya Collection team, already deeply aligned with Lalique’s DNA. Their openness and curiosity enabled the creation of a singular and exclusive project. What did you imagine for the Maya Hotel Courchevel 1850? We created bespoke crystal pieces, complemented by works from Lalique’s emblematic collections centred on fauna and flora – themes dear to René Lalique. From the entrance, a spectacular chandelier captures at tention. What is its story? It is a bouquet of sixty anemones in gold‑lustre crystal, a re interpretation of the traditional floral arrangements found in palaces. This flower, designed by René Lalique in 1931, was originally conceived as a delicate adornment for a dressing table. Inspired by Japanese style and the alpine environment of Courchevel, this centrepiece immerses visitors in a poetic, serene atmosphere. How does the emotional experience unfold throughout the spaces? In the rooms and suites, Lalique pieces have been carefully selected to bring an artistic touch to the hotel’s warm, mini malist design.
