The jewellery pieces in this second chapter feature a colony of exquisite scales. Like a snake coiled around a tree branch, discreetly nestled in nature, the crystal takes on a skin-like texture, stimulating the senses. Lalique has now unveiled bold, new designs: in the manner of a printed motif, the scale pattern adorns large, sculpted and coloured crystal chain links, interspersed by brilliant metal links of the same shape, in a stunning ensemble. The contrasts are positively venomous, in a register never seen before in Lalique jewellery: red and Amazon green, both selected by observing fauna, resonate with brilliant 18-karat gold-plate or sterling silver.
